Criteria for Grant Awards
Vermont Irene Flood Relief Fund (9/22/11)
Since the request for financial assistance far exceeds monies in the Fund, the committee will prioritize grant awards by considering the following factors:
- Which businesses have the greatest need
- The likelihood that the grant will enable the businessto reopen and/or be financially sustainable
- The positive impact the viability of the business will have on the local community.
Any combination of these factors may be used to determine funding priority. The committee may also include in its decision-making things such as pace of future revenue potential, other financial assistance that may be available, and the length of time the businesses has previously been in operation.
It is not the intent of the committee to refuse any business that has legitimate need, but rather to prioritize use of available funds to the highest and best use.
